Technical Service Bulletin – Part No. US8160

To support proper installation and long-term performance of the US8160 water pump, we have released a new Technical Service Bulletin highlighting several critical installation procedures that should always be followed during service.

The US8160 is one of our most widely used water pumps, and proper installation practices are essential to ensuring reliable operation and preventing premature cooling system issues. This bulletin focuses on key areas, including:

• Using the correct coolant type and replacing contaminated coolant
• Proper mounting bolt torque specifications
• Proper cooling system bleeding and air removal procedures

Following these installation guidelines can help improve cooling system performance, support long-term durability, and reduce the risk of common installation-related issues.

Please review the attached bulletin carefully before installation and share it with your service technicians and installers as needed.

Thank you for your continued support of US Motor Works products.

US Motor Works Webinar: Fuel Pump Delivery Systems

Trying to diagnose an intermittent or underperforming in-tank pump without a diagnostic strategy can lead to lost productivity and unnecessary parts replacement. Having a strategy provides a roadmap to address not only mechanical problems, but also electrical and control system issues.

When you attend this free webinar, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of how modern fuel delivery systems rely on precise electrical control, and how small faults can create symptoms that are often misdiagnosed. This session will focus on practical, real-world diagnostic thinking that you can immediately apply in the bay to improve accuracy, reduce comebacks, and make more confident repair decisions.

This webinar will take place Thursday, March 19th 2026 at  2pm ET.
