US Motor Works Advances Energy Independence with High-Performance Solar Microgrid
US Motor Works is proud to announce the successful implementation of a state-of-the-art solar and battery storage microgrid system at its facility. Designed to significantly reduce reliance on the traditional power grid, the system represents a major step forward in the company’s commitment to sustainability, operational efficiency, and long-term energy cost control.
The newly deployed system includes a 220 kW solar photovoltaic array paired with 408 kWh of battery storage and robust backup power capabilities of up to 120 kW. These components are demonstrating exceptional performance, with early results showing the system is currently meeting 100% of the facility’s energy needs.

One of the most impactful outcomes so far is the system’s ability to offset peak energy usage. During high-demand periods, the battery system is delivering up to 12 hours of power, helping the facility avoid costly peak utility charges. As the system continues to learn and adapt to the facility’s energy consumption patterns, further optimization is expected—potentially exceeding initial projections.

Looking ahead, performance is anticipated to improve even further as seasonal solar production increases. With summer months approaching, the system is expected to generate even more energy—reinforcing US Motor Works’ leadership in innovative, energy-efficient manufacturing. This investment reflects a forward-thinking approach to sustainability and energy independence.
