  • Work on a level surface.
  • Use safety stands for support, not a jack.
  • Keep an ABC fire extinguisher close by.
  • Wear approved safety glasses
  • Work in a well ventilated area.
  • Do not smoke or allow open flames near vehicle.
  • Disable fuel pump before servicing by removing fuse or battery cables.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure before servicing pump.
